Sarina Margurite Bayer Memorial

Sarina Margurite Bayer, who originally founded the Mina Fund in 1990, passed away at her home in Mississauga on January 20, 2024, surrounded by her family. Sarina's wish was to encourage others to continue her legacy of kindness.

Broadwell Christian Hospital held a heartfelt memorial service, and dedicated their state-of-the-art Ultrasound and Dental Unit in recognition of Sarina's faithful support through the Mina Fund. Mina Fund support also enabled the hospital to develop their Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) department. These new facilities are delivering equitable access to healthcare to the poor and marginalized in rural areas and remote areas, a vision which Dr. Mina and Sarina shared.

While Sarina's passing left a significant void, her strength of character, resiliency and compassion for the less fortunate demonstrated how to make a positive impact on the world, and live a life that matters! Speaking at the dedication ceremony, hospital representatives expressed their gratitude: "This new Ultrasound and Dental Unit stands as a living legacy of Sarina Margurite Bayer’s compassion and the Mina Fund's unwavering commitment. Through this partnership, thousands of lives have been touched, and opportunities have been created for those most in need."

As we honour Sarina’s remarkable life, we invite you to join us in continuing her mission of building a better future for disadvantaged children and communities. Your support helps ensure that her legacy of love and action lives on.
